USR® 56K dial-up modems include the features and reliable connections needed for highly secure business transactions and critical secondary connections. USR offers all types of modems from controller-based to Winmodems as well as all form factors from PCIe to USB to serial.
Powerful enough to meet the needs of large corporations, yet simple enough for small office use, our business modems are specifically designed for 24x7 environments. Featuring carrier loss redial, dial-back security and advanced USR® line probing technology which identifies the most efficient route from your ISP or network to your computer, these award-winning products ensure secure, fast, reliable data transfers.
While modems are typically thought of as providing connections to the internet (for customers that don’t have broadband), there are many other data transport requirements where modems are ideal. Many Point of Sale (POS) applications for credit card and check verification use modems and because of the security, fast connection speeds, and reliability built into USR modems they are usually the modem of choice. Features like carrier-loss redial, used to re-establish a lost connection and dial-back security provide enhanced security for our business modems.
The PCIe low profile modem is ideal for a POS system. The internal business modems, USR802981-OEM and USR263093-OEM, are ideal for embedded systems or buying in bulk for mass installations. With external modems available as (serial and USB), with fax capabilities, and even voice functionality, it is certain that we have a modem to meet your needs. And for systems that need controller based interface, the flagship Courier® business modem provides rock-solid serial connections.
* Capable of receiving at up to 56 Kbps and sending at up to 48 Kbps (or 31.2 Kbps with V.90 server). Due to FCC regulations on power output, receiving speeds are limited to 53.3 Kbps. Actual speeds may vary. V.92 and V.90 features require compatible phone service and support from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). USRobotics modems featuring V.92 enhancements are backward compatible and will negotiate the highest possible speed when connecting to an ISP.
